It's All Happening

What exactly?

FALL!

For me, the season officially begins in late July when the September fashion preview mags hit the shelves.
 

To appropriately appreciate the 2 pound pubs, I follow a very specific ritual:
1) Kate Hudson and/or Meg Ryan movie marathon must provide background noise.
2) $30 worth of glossies stacked on my coffee table will be read in order of most ads (In Style) to most copy (Harper's Bazaar).
3) Xtra large salty caramel with pretzels from Pink Berry will provide sustenance.

Despite the fact that this night typically happens in August (when I'm supposed to want strappy sandals not knee-high boots), I find myself instantly craving cooler temps so that I can justify purchasing the newest menswear inspired cardigan or slightly tweaked bell bottoms to add my collection.

Coincidentally, this particular ritual takes place right when my favorite boutiques have their end of season sales. I try my very best to avoid all of the summer-y stuff and only indulge in items I've deemed "transitional". This way, I still get the NEW STUFF high, while being comforted by the fact that I can use this piece when the temps start to change.
